Internet/Intranet: Applications and Sites

Intranet envisages the use of Internet technology and services for a LAN or WAN. In the latter case costly dedicated telephone lines were formerly used for point-to-point connection, while local dedicated or switched lines are now used for the connection to the nearest Internet Provider's PoP.

Intranet technology offers the advantage of solving network application problems through a single data access interface. Development and maintenance costs are lower due to procedures being centralized on Web server; client data access is obtained at no cost thanks to the use of any Internet browser; installation time is reduced; software distribution is not required, all this tends to reduce the total cost of ownership.

The Web is thus used to centralize company procedures. The same browser used for Internet is also used by users/clients to access company data. The more complex procedures for data processing are left to central servers that manage data bases and files.

We design the structure of Web sites. Design is modular and follows up-to-date standards to allow easy and rapid expansion of the site. Customer will be able to update the site when desired. Web structure is hosted on the same Internet servers we utilize.

We ensure conversion of customer's company graphics: scanning and image processing of logos and photographs, inscriptions, bar- and pie-charts, animations, consistent with current customer's graphics. Upon request, we can provide multi-function Web sites with automatic procedures and special areas, based on ASP.NET technology, including page access counters, Cgi-bin programs to centralize procedures, JavaScript functions for animation and eye-catching effects.

We provide Internet site referencing service with the main American and Italian search engines.
